A few things that have my 🖤…

More about me…

Hi, I’m Nita. I consider myself a creative innovator and a fierce problem solver. I’m equal parts radical liberal feminist and someone who’s full of childlike wonder + awe. I’m a Taurus, and an introvert, born in the year of the monkey. No matter how many times I take the test, I always score as an INFJ although I don’t always see myself in the description. I love both cats and dogs but I’m currently living team dog. I’m an avid walker with a serious sweet tooth for cupcakes and Swedish Fish. I like big hearts, big dogs, and big ideas - I like tiny cars, tiny houses, and mini muffins. I believe less is more and simple is beautiful and animals are magic

Random facts about me:

  • When I’m not working with humans + their businesses I can be found walking with dogs all around Long Beach, California. #GoBeach

  • I’ve driven a Volkswagen Beetle for the past 20 years.

  • I love embroidery and generally have about 5 works in progress going at any time. I’ve even contributed some pieces to the Tiny Pricks Project.

  • I LOVE MoMA’s iconic Stendig Calender - I’ve had one for years. The bold black + white design was the inspiration for this site and the calendar has been featured in 7 places on the site. (Let me know if you find ‘em all!)

  • I secretly love to read and write love stories. 🖤

How a former Corporate MacGyver found her way here…

In my early corporate career, I was recognized as a strong administrator with a love of technology and a reputation for organizing a better workflow in any department or project I touched. Wherever I was, I became known as the company problem solver and a creative innovator - a corporate MacGyver, if you will. (They actually called me MacGyver, and at one time I listed it on my resume.)  I was very successful because I was doing work I did well but the big corporate lifestyle wasn’t where my heart really sang. I secretly dreamed of having something small (and happy) of my own that allowed me to do the work I loved, for people I cared about.

Becoming a professional organizer felt like the perfect business for me and, in 2009, that’s exactly how I began. But as any entrepreneur knows, the start is rarely the finish. Most of my clients seeking organization solutions for their spaces also needed solutions for their lives and business processes – and that’s my forte! Almost by accident, I became a personal assistant to entrepreneurs and some friendly showbiz types.

In 2010, I  made my formal shift from space organizing, to a boutique virtual support firm, and, I, a problem solver extraordinaire. Now, every day, I sing (80’s music and show tunes) quietly at my desk, sometimes reaching down to pat a sleeping dog. 🖤
